PAPERCRAFT OBJECTS: DIGITAL SAMPLES

Image
this project requires us to create 3D geometric objects and unfold them so they become flat objects.  I wanted to experiment with an uneven geometric object I struggled with figuring out how to unfold this object I wanted to experiment with a straight edge edge object, but remembered this would be hard to replicate with paper. experimenting with nature objects while brainstorming about ideas for the next project experimenting with working with objects with hollow parts experimenting with an object with no surface to the top and bottom while brainstorming for the final idea for this project, I thought of a farm environment so I tried creating a fence. experimenting with a building structure experimenting with diamond shaped objects. this was the first object I unfolded, so I wanted to start off with something simple.

https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2014/03/illuminated-cut-paper-light-boxes-by-hari-deepti/ the artist of the paper art shown above seems to have cut out separate pieces of paper, and layered them to create a scenery that creates elements of storytelling. while doing research and finding artists that work with similar elements, I found that the artist in the link used a digital program to organize their designs to ensure when all the pieces were cut, they would fit together. they also framed their work and added lights to add to the scene to make it look more lively.  this work inspires me because the artists were able to turn paper art into a piece that contains story elements, and this form of art has a lot of potential to be an effective way of story telling. this could force artists doing paper work projects to think of telling story ideas and concepts in a new and unique way from a lesser known form of art. this could create new opportunities to challenge the way we portra...

[04.) MESH MASHUP: HD RENDERS (MILESTONE PROJECT 1)]

experimenting finals in my previous design, the concept was to have a fairy living on the back of a turtle. while using Rhino, I discovered that I cannot paint objects like in meshmixer, which made it easer to colour one object different colours. I then decided to switch out the fairy to another creature. I chose a frog as I would be able to seperate its eyes and it would be less complicated to colour than a fairy, which would have many elements that would be needed to seperate.
